This role offers you the opportunity to take the reins at a brand new state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital, build the management team, and lead the launch of a high profile new joint venture. This facility is a joint venture with St. Luke's Hospital, a premier regional healthcare provider recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals in 2008 (for the second year in a row) by HealthGrades.
You will oversee all aspects of a 35-bed facility, with initial emphasis on business development and establishing exceptional relationships with physicians and other key stakeholders. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have significant senior administrative management experience in healthcare, ideally in a rehab or LTACH environment. RehabCare is looking for a professional with strong business acumen and a solid understanding of what makes a hospital profitable. You also will need the political savvy and presence to be effective in a large, sophisticated organization.

More About Your Role
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations of RehabCare's hospital division, you will provide leadership to the Directors of Business Development, Patient Care Services, and Quality Management, as well as a HR Coordinator. The facility is slated to open in late October 2008.
The joint venture, in which RehabCare owns majority interest, will transition operations of St. Luke's current 16-bed, in-hospital rehab unit into the newly constructed freestanding facility about three miles from the main hospital. From the high level view, you will start up and manage the operations, future growth, and program development for the hospital, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost effective care to the community as well as the responsible use of fiscal, human and physical resources. This will involve developing and implementing key strategic initiatives and leading the staff to ensure the continuing success of the hospital.
You will focus on business development right away, filling the beds in response to the demand for quality care and service in a highly competitive environment. Pivotal to your success will be your ability to establish and maintain solid relationships with a variety of external and internal groups, including physicians, St. Luke's administration, patients and their families, the larger community, your staff, RehabCare administration, and others.
